Dust explosion at Mussalo sulphur terminal on 10 April 2026 

A dust explosion occurred at Rauanheimo’s Mussalo sulphur terminal on Friday afternoon, 10 April 2026, in the train loading line area. 

The fire was quickly identified, and emergency services were alerted. Terminal operations were immediately suspended and the area was isolated. 

No personal injuries were reported. Potential damage to equipment and structures is currently being assessed. 

The cause of the incident is under investigation, and further details will be clarified as technical investigations progress.
