Rauanheimo expands operations to Sweden – agreement with Stegra
Rauanheimo has entered into a significant agreement with the Swedish company Stegra to provide logistics services at the Ports of Skellefteå and Umeå. The cooperation is linked to Stegra’s steel plant currently under construction in Boden, northern Sweden, with production expected to start in 2026.
Stegra’s investment is a major industrial project of international significance and an extensive logistics network is being built around it. Within this framework, Rauanheimo will be responsible for part of the cargo handling at the Port of Skellefteå, as well as for receiving and managing scrap at the Port of Umeå. These operations will ensure the smooth flow of materials required for steel production and the efficient export of finished products.
For Rauanheimo, the agreement marks a historic milestone as it represents the company’s first international expansion outside of Finland.
– We are very excited about the opportunity to expand our operations to Sweden. We thank Stegra for the trust and the opportunity to be part of building the steel industry of the future. We look forward to working with Stegra, the Port of Skellefteå and the Port of Umeå, says Tero Kosonen, CEO of Rauanheimo.
With over 140 years of experience as a port operator in Finland, Rauanheimo has established itself as one of the country’s leading logistics providers. The newly signed agreement strengthens the company’s position also in the international market and opens new opportunities for future growth.
