Rauanheimo and Boliden sign a new five-year extension agreement to strengthen long-term collaboration in Kokkola

Rauanheimo and Boliden have signed a new five-year extension agreement, solidifying their long-standing partnership in Kokkola. The agreement ensures that Rauanheimo will continue as Boliden’s logistics partner, providing a robust foundation for the local development of the port operator’s activities.

Tero Kosonen, CEO of Rauanheimo, commented on the significance of the agreement:
“We are grateful for the opportunity to continue as Boliden’s logistics partner. With decades of experience in handling Boliden’s products, this new agreement gives us excellent long-term prospects to further develop our operations.”

“From Boliden’s perspective, key factors in extending the agreement were Rauanheimo’s extensive experience and reliability in delivery. Additionally, environmental responsibility and reducing carbon emissions have been integral considerations in the agreement,” said Jorma Harju, Production Director of Boliden Kokkola.

Rauanheimo is committed to transitioning to the use of biofuels to reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, the company will replace its current fleet of forklifts with electric alternatives as the existing equipment reaches the end of its lifecycle.

The agreement strengthens the long-term partnership between Rauanheimo and Boliden and supports both parties’ goals in creating an efficient and sustainable logistics chain.
