The Port of Kokkola is one of the leading ports in Finland and the only port in the Nordics to offer an all-weather terminal, where goods can be unloaded and loaded in protection from wind and weather. The port is important for the large-scale industry in Kokkola and the surrounding region. Three different ports
The Port of Kokkola consists of three different ports situated over a 3-kilometre-long area. Each port is specialised in a certain type of goods.
The Deep Port
Depth: 14 metres
Type of goods: Bulk goods
Type of ships: Particularly suited for larger ships from Handy Size to Cape Size
The General Port
Depth: 9,5 metres
Specialty: All-weather terminal for weather-sensitive products
Type of goods: Break bulk, containers, light bulk products
The Silverstone Port
Depth: 10 metres
Type of goods: Project cargo and light bulk products, such as limestone, fodder phosphates and potassium sulphates
Logistics
The Port of Kokkola is very well located with excellent sea, railway and road connections. The traffic has good development potential thanks to the new railway yard, the new main road to the port and the deepening of its channel.
